Thermostats control and monitor thermal processes. The devices of the ATH series are available as temperature controllers TR, temperature monitors TW, safety
temperature monitors STW (STB) and safety temperature limiters STB. In the event of malfunctions, the STB puts the monitored system into an operationally safe
state. Surface-mounted thermostats operate on the principle of liquid expansion; a microswitch serves as the electrical switching element.

If the temperature present at the temperature sensor exceeds the set
setpoint, the microswitch is actuated via the transmission mechanism and the
circuit is opened or closed. When the temperature falls below the adjusted

If the measuring system is destroyed, i.e. if the expansion fluid escapes,
the pressure in the diaphragm of the STB and STW (STB) drops and permanently opens

cools down to a temperature below approx. -20°C, the circuit is also opened; when
the temperature rises above approx. -20°C, the STB must first be manually unlocked by pressing the restart button
